There was a sharp debate between Trump and Jailonsky
This will be the third meeting of Trump and Jailonsky in 7 months. Last time, when Jailonski went to America, he had a fierce debate with Trump.
Trump told Jailonsky that he was not thankful to American help. Trump had said- Jailonski is gambling with the possibility of third world war. Either deal or we are out of this agreement.
The conversation ended without any agreement after a sharp rhetoric between the two leaders. The two then met at the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome on 26 April.
During the debate, Jailonsky tried to speak several times, but Trump silenced him.

Jailonski will have focus on three issues
Jailonski’s main focus will be on three issues at the meeting with Trump. 1- The killings of common people in Ukraine should be closed, 2- More restrictions should be imposed on Russia, 3- First there should be a permanent ceasefire and then there is security guarantee.
In addition, Jailonski has supported a tripartite meeting between Ukraine, the US and Russia. In this meeting with Trump, Jailonski’s emphasis will also be on the fact that Ukraine’s safety and sovereignty are given priority in any agreement.
Putin refuses to quit 10% of Ukraine
Russia has occupied about 20% of Ukraine, ie about 1 lakh 14 thousand 500 square kilometers. It includes areas such as Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherrason and Japorijia.
Russia considers these areas its strategic and historical heritage and is not ready to leave them.
Putin has clearly said that talks with Ukraine about peace can only happen when Ukraine leaves his claim from the occupied areas of Russia and accept those areas as part of Russia.
Jailonski demand- Be unconditionally ceasefire
Jailonski will not give even an inch of Ukraine land to Russia. They believe that if Ukraine now retreats, it can weaken the sovereignty and security of the country. Also, Russia can get a chance to attack more in future.
Trump held a virtual meeting on 13 August with Ukrainian President Jailonsky and European leaders. In this meeting, Trump spoke of land exchange to end the war.
On this, Jailonsky said- Any decision on the regional integrity of Ukraine cannot be made without taking into account our constitution and public will.
Our principles and decisions related to our land will be at the level of leaders, but Ukraine’s participation in it is necessary. Jailonski demanded a ceasefire unconditionally.
Russia wants Ukraine to join NATO
A condition for ending Putin’s battle is that Ukraine leaves his intention to join NATO. In Alaska, Putin has made it clear to Trump that his most important condition to end the struggle is still intact.
Putin says that NATO should no longer expand to the east. That is, Ukraine should not be allowed to join NATO.
Putin said that if he is confident of it, he will be ready to compromise on other issues. Russia sees Ukraine as a buffer zone on its western border.
Dispute in Russia-Ukraine over land exchange
Putin has proposed to Trump to stabilize his front in Kherason and Japorizia areas of southern Ukraine instead of Donnetsk. This would mean that Putin’s army will not try to hold new attacks and occupy the land there.
Indeed, Russia controls about 70% of Donnetsk. Ukraine still has some large cities in the western part of the region, which are considered important for its army and security strategy.
Donnetsk is an area of the eastern part of Ukraine, which is considered part of the Donbas region. This area is known for coal mines and heavy industry and is economically the most rich region in Ukraine.
European countries sought security guarantee for Ukraine before ceasefire
The European country, especially Germany, Britain and France, are not in favor of surrender of Ukraine. They have refused to accept Russia’s terms and support Ukraine’s sovereignty.
European countries believe that it would be wrong to compromise a compromise without incorporating or safety guarantees to Ukraine. This is making it difficult to agree in peace talks.
At the same time, Putin said that Ukraine and European leaders should not interfere in the conversation on peace. He said, “We hope that Ukraine and European countries will understand it and do not obstruct it.”
Proposal of tripartite meeting in recent meeting of Trump-Putin

- No new restrictions: Trump had earlier threatened more sanctions on Russia. However, after the meeting, Trump said that Russia and the countries who bought oil were not yet banned.
- Release of prisoners: Trump had said after the meeting that there could be an agreement related to the exchange of prisoners. Trump had said, ‘I say 50/50, because there can be many things. But I think President Putin wants to solve the problem. ‘
There was a mineral deal between America-Ukraine
Ukraine and the US signed the mineral deal on 30 April. Under this deal, the US received special access in Ukraine’s new mineral (mineral) projects. In return, the US will invest in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Also, under this deal, a joint investment fund will be created for re-development and reconstruction of Ukraine.
Apart from this, the Trump government has not released much details about this deal immediately, and it is also not clear what effect it will have on America’s military help.
The Economy Ministry of Ukraine has said that the US will contribute directly to this fund or through military help, while Ukraine will put 50% of the earnings from the use of its natural resources in this fund.
