India’s Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra got married on Friday. He posted 3 pictures of his wedding on social media 2 days later at 9.36 pm on Sunday. His wife Himani and mother Saroj Devi were seen in the photos. 27 year old Neeraj wrote on social media – Started a new chapter of life with my family.
According to family sources, the wedding ceremony of Neeraj and Himani was organized very secretly. Only the boy and the girl’s close family members attended the wedding. In the pictures shared by Neeraj, only a few members of the family are seen sitting together. No one except the family knew about the marriage.

He wrote his and wife Himani’s name in the social media post and made a heart emoji. He wrote in English, ‘I am thankful for the blessings of everyone who became our partner in this moment. Bound in love, happily ever after.’

Who is Neeraj’s wife Himani?
Neeraj took 7 rounds with tennis player Himani Mor, a resident of Ladsauli village in Sonipat district of his own state, Haryana. Himani is studying sports from USA. His father Chand Ram retired from State Bank of India (SBI) about 2 months ago. Himani’s father has built a sports stadium in the village. They play Circle Kabaddi to the players here.

Started playing tennis during school time
Himani Mor started playing tennis while studying at Little Angel School, Sonipat. Himani’s mother Meena trained her in the initial stages. He left the village and took a rented house in Sonipat. Along with sports, he graduated from Miranda House College of Delhi University.
He then represented India in the University Tennis Championships held in Taiwan in 2017–18. Apart from mother, father Chand Ram Mor also always inspired his daughter to move forward. Himani’s younger brother Himanshu is also a tennis player. Also two cousins have been international players.

Neeraj went abroad for honeymoon
Neeraj’s uncle Surendra Chopra told Dainik Bhaskar that the wedding program was organized very secretly. Only the family members of the boy and the girl attended the wedding. Even in the village and relatives, no one knew about the marriage. Everyone got information about the wedding after the social media post.
This marriage took place on 17 January in India. Neeraj has gone for a trip abroad with his bride today i.e. Sunday morning. A reception party will be organized only after his return to India.
Mother had said for Pakistani athlete, Arshad is also my son Neeraj also posted a photo with his mother Saroj Devi on social media. When Neeraj won the silver medal in the Paris Olympics, the gold medal went to Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan. After the match, Neeraj’s mother had said, ‘We are very happy, the one who won the gold is also my son.’

There was a rumor of marriage with Manu Bhakar
After the end of Paris Olympics, there were reports that shooter Manu Bhaker and Neeraj would get married. However, Manu’s father had denied these reports and said that Manu is still young. Not only this, Manu’s mother also considers Neeraj like her son.
The family had said – they will marry only when they themselves say.
There were talks of Neeraj’s marriage after winning the silver medal in the Paris Olympics. Then his family had said that Neeraj is still old enough to play more for the country. India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. 27 year old Neeraj had scored a season best 89.45 in the second attempt. With this, he became the third Indian player to win medals in two consecutive Olympics. Neeraj also won the gold medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Before Neeraj, only wrestler Sushil Kumar and badminton player PV Sindhu could win medals for India in two consecutive Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra is only the second Indian player to win a gold medal in the individual category in the Olympics.
American magazine chose him as athlete of the year Neeraj Chopra was declared the world’s best men’s athlete in 2024 by the American magazine ‘Track and Field News’. Neeraj, who finished second in the Olympic Games in 2024, secured first place in the ranking of California based magazine. He was also in the race for Laureus Sportsperson of the Year.
