Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural show ‘Naagin 7’ may go off air just 3 months after its launch. The ratings of this show which started with huge TRP are now continuously falling.
The main reason behind this is considered to be the weak story and excessive use of AI in visual effects. According to media reports, this show may close soon.
The grand premiere took place on 25 December
The makers had premiered Naagin 7 on 25 December 2025. Initially the show got a tremendous response from the audience and the very first episode broke old TRP records.
The show performed well for the first two months, but after that the audience’s interest in the story and presentation started waning.
Trolling on use of AI and budget
The use of AI technology instead of VFX in the show increased the problems of the makers. To save budget, Ekta Kapoor got visuals created through AI, which was trolled on social media as ‘cheap and bad’.
Responding to this, Ekta had said that she does not have much budget for the show, hence she is resorting to this technique. However, today’s discerning audience and ‘Gen Z’ did not like this experiment.

The performance of the show’s lead actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary also could not stand the test of fans. The audience started comparing her on social media with the old faces of ‘Nagin’ like Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan.
Fans believe that Mouni Roy had the main role of this show and Priyanka could not create that magic. The effect of this resentment was visible on TRP and the show was out of the top 10 list.

Will the show really close?
According to media reports, due to falling ratings, the channel and makers have decided to shut it down. However, no official statement has come on this yet. If Ekta Kapoor makes any major changes in the story in the coming days, then perhaps the show may get an extension.
