Iran has weapons that are small, easily hidden and can be used suddenly. These weapons are hidden in mountains, caves and tunnels. If needed, they can be launched from near the coast.

Therefore it is very difficult to find and eliminate them.

Even American warship is not safe in Hormuz

The process of removing mines is very slow and can take several weeks. During this time, the teams that remove mines also need security, because they themselves can become easy targets of attack.

Even if America somehow opens this route, the problem will not be completely eliminated. Even just one missile or drone attack could create fear again and shipping companies would avoid passing through this route again.

500 oil tankers stranded in the Persian Gulf

Currently, about 500 oil tankers are standing in the Persian Gulf and most are not moving. Before the war, about 80 oil and gas tankers passed through this route every day.

Now shipowners and insurance companies will be ready only when they feel that the risk has reduced considerably. If the risk is high, they will not use this route.
