President Donald Trump has started work to reduce the number of employees from the federal government. The Trump administration on Tuesday offered the federal employees to leave the job ie the job. For this, a week i.e. till 6 February has been given.
In lieu of leaving the job, employees will be given additional salary of 8 months. The Department of Personnel, who recruited in government jobs, has also warned of trimming employees in future.
The email sent to millions of employees states that those who leave the post on their own will get about eight months’ salary, but they will have to choose this option by 6 February.
According to the department, this offer has been made by mailing 20 lakh people.
More than 30 lakh employees in federal government
According to government data, the number of federal employees is more than 30 lakhs. These are the 15th largest workforce of American. According to Pew Research, the average tenure of a federal employee is 12 years old.
According to news agency AP, health workers working in the Veterans Affairs Department, officers doing loan process for home or business and contractors who buy weapons for the army can all come out simultaneously.
Scientists investigating food and water supply may also have to lose their jobs.
Order to return to office to employees who do work from home
In the email sent to the Personnel Department, the employees doing the work from home have been asked to return to the office. These employees will have to work from the office 5 days a week.
