On November 24, Dharmendra, one of Bollywood’s favorite superstars, said goodbye to the world. The actor died due to age related diseases and was hastily cremated. Due to this, fans had many questions in their mind.
Now UAE filmmaker Hamad Al Riyami has written a long post in his Instagram post about the actor’s last moments and funeral.
Actually, Hamad had last met Dharmendra on September 30 at his Juhu residence. And went to meet Hema Malini three days after her death. While talking to Hamad about the last days of the actor, Hema had described them as painful.
He writes- ‘On the third day of condolence, I went to meet veteran actress Hema Malini, wife of late superstar Dharmendra. This was my first time meeting him face to face. Although I have seen him from a distance on several occasions before. But this time something was different.
A poignant, heavy on the heart, one that no matter how hard you try, it doesn’t sink in. I sat with her and I could see the pain on her face, which she was trying hard to hide.

Hamad further wrote- ‘He told me, I wish I was at the farmhouse on the same day… where I was with Dharmendra ji about two months ago. I wish I could have seen him there.
Hamad writes that Hema told him that Dharmendra used to write beautiful poems. He told me- ‘I always used to ask him why he doesn’t publish beautiful poems and compositions?’ And he would reply – ‘Not now… first let me complete some poems. But time did not give him a chance and he left.
He further writes that then Hema told him bitterly – ‘Now strangers will come, they will write about this. They will write books.
Hema then said with deep sadness that she regretted that her fans did not get a chance to see her for the last time. She says- ‘Dharmendra throughout his life did not want anyone to see him in a weak or sick condition. He used to hide his pain from everyone. Even from those closest to you. After the death of the person… the decision depends only on the family.

After Dharmendra’s demise, Hema Malini had expressed her grief by writing a post on her social media account.
Hamad writes that after hearing all these things, I sat for a while and wiped Hema Malini’s tears. Then Hema told him clearly – ‘But what happened was kindness. Because Hamad, you could not see him in this condition. His last days were very cruel, very painful. And we too were hardly able to tolerate seeing him in this condition.
Hamad writes that his words hit like arrows…painful and true. I ended the conversation by telling him, whatever happens…my love for him will never change. Nor will theirs ever be less than my life. As I started to leave, I hesitantly asked Hema ji if I could take a photo with her because I never had any photo with her.
