In fact, writer Shobha De wrote in an article that ‘Why Arjun Rampal’s saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai should be a matter of concern for the Bollywood audience.’ Shobha De argues in her article that such slogans are now being used in Bollywood under political guidelines to appear ‘natural’. He called it a worrying sign for the changing political stance of stars and the future of Bollywood. Girlfriend Gabriella called the article shameful Arjun’s girlfriend Gabriella has expressed strong objection to Shobha De’s article. He wrote on social media that it is shameful to say such things. Gabriella defended Arjun and said that it is wrong to link his acting and hard work with politics. At the award function, Arjun told that for him this slogan was not just a formality. During the 26/11 attacks in 2008, Arjun himself was present at the Taj Hotel and was preparing to celebrate his birthday. He had seen that horrific scene with his own eyes. Arjun said, “Working in the film Dhurandhar was like a personal revenge for me. When I was returning home on the morning of 26/11, I had to stop and vomit several times on the way. When Aditya Dhar narrated the scene to me, I felt that I will take my revenge through this.” Arjun cried while playing the role of an ISI agent. In this espionage thriller by Aditya Dhar, Arjun Rampal has played the role of Major Iqbal, a ruthless Pakistani ISI agent. In one scene of the film, Arjun’s character celebrates by getting in touch with the terrorists in the hotel. According to media reports, after completing the shooting of this challenging and negative scene, Arjun himself cried on the set. In the film’s sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, Ranveer Singh’s character completes his revenge against Major Iqbal.
