On the third day of the monsoon session of Parliament, there was a lot of uproar in both the houses regarding the budget. The opposition even walked out of the Rajya Sabha. During the proceedings of the Lok Sabha, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee targeted the central government and criticized the budget.
He said that in the budget, B stands for Betrayal, U stands for Unemployment, D stands for Deprived, G stands for Guarantee, E stands for Eccentric and T stands for Tragedy.
Banerjee also said that the results of the Lok Sabha elections show that the arrogance and divisive politics of the BJP are not acceptable. The NDA coalition government is bad, unstable and weak. This alliance will break very soon.
On Abhishek’s budget statement, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said that the TMC leader has used three objectionable and unparliamentary words. He should apologize for this. Bansuri demanded Speaker Om Birla to remove these words from the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. On this, the Speaker said that I will read it. If needed, a decision will be taken on it.
Birla-Abhishek debate took place in Parliament
During the debate on the budget in the Lok Sabha, there was a debate between Speaker Om Birla and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. Abhishek said that the central government passed the agriculture bills without consulting the farmers, farmers’ organizations or opposition parties.
On this, Speaker Birla had said that there was a discussion of five and a half hours on the bills in the House. Abhishek again said that there was no discussion on this. Then Birla said that when the speaker speaks, he speaks the truth. You correct yourself. On this, Abhishek said that when I speak, I do not speak wrong. Abhishek Banerjee is the general secretary of TMC and second in the party after Mamata Banerjee.
In his speech, Abhishek Banerjee also raised questions on the budget. He said that there is a lack of clarity in the budget. Instead of giving relief to 140 crore countrymen, the BJP has worked to please its allies.
Birla said to TMC MP- you cannot give me instructions
There was a ruckus during Abhishek Banerjee’s speech. TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee told Speaker Om Birla that you don’t say anything to the ruling party MPs, you speak to us. On this Birla said that you cannot give me instructions. Speaker Birla advised the MPs that many members challenge the chair, this should be avoided.
Abhishek Banerjee said- BJP is targeting minorities
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee said that the BJP had promised good days before coming to power, but inflation has increased. The government has betrayed the farmers. BJP leaders say – those who are with us, we are with them. Statements like Mangalsutra and Mujra were given by the BJP. All this shows that minorities are being targeted.
Abhishek also raised the issue of Kanwar Yatra. He said that religion is a personal matter of everyone, but BJP is doing politics on it. This time BJP does not have a single Muslim MP in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. They should answer this.
