CTET 2026: This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a key change: candidates will not be able to choose their exam city.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 application window, which began on May 11, 2026, will close tomorrow, June 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Applicants can submit their forms through the official website: CTET official website at ctet.nic.in. The deadline for online fee payment (via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking) is also June 10, 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
Candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their application forms from June 15 to June 18, 2026. Admit cards will be made available for download two days before the examination date. The CTET exam is scheduled for September 6, 2026 (Sunday), with results expected by the end of October. The test will be conducted across 132 cities in 27 languages.
No Option To Select Exam City This Year
This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a key change: candidates will not be able to choose their exam city. Instead, examination centres will be allotted randomly by CBSE. Requests for changing the allotted city or exam date will not be entertained under any circumstances, including cases where the exam is conducted on September 5 or 6, 2026, as allocation will be done on a random basis.
Eligibility for CTET 2026
CTET Paper 1 (Classes 1–5): Candidates must meet any one of the following criteria:
12th pass with at least 50% marks along with a 2-year D.El.Ed, or
12th pass with 50% marks along with a 4-year B.Ed, or
12th pass with 50% marks along with a 2-year D.El.Ed (Special Education).
CTET Paper 2 (Classes 6–8): Candidates must qualify any one of the following:
Graduation with 2-year D.El.Ed, or
12th pass with 50% marks along with a 4-year B.Ed, or
12th pass with 50% marks along with a 4-year integrated BA/BSc/B.Ed, or
Graduation with 50% marks along with B.Ed (Special Education).
CTET 2026 Application Fees
For General and OBC-NCL candidates:
Rs 1000 for one paper
Rs 1200 for both papers
For SC, ST, and Divyang candidates:
Rs 500 for one paper
Rs 600 for both papers

Step 3 – Fill in personal and academic details carefully
Step 4 – Upload a scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format
Step 5 – Pay the application fee using online payment modes
Step 6 – Submit the form and download a copy for future reference
CTET 2026 Qualifying Marks
To qualify, general category candidates must score at least 90 out of 150 (60%) for while SC/ST category candidates need to secure at 82 out of 150 marks (55% minimum).
