Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi expressed grief on the suicide of a student due to bulling at a school in Kerala. He said that strict action should be taken against the people responsible for this incident, whether they are going to be called or those who did not try to stop it.
Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, ‘Mihir Ahmed’s suicide is very sad due to bulling in Kerala school. My condolences to his family. ‘ He further said, ‘No child has gone through this pain like Mihir. The school should be a safe place, but it was constantly harassed. Whoever is responsible for this, should be processed.

Rahul Gandhi also appealed to the parents to teach their children compassion, love and sympathy. He said, ‘If your child says that he is being called, do not take his point lightly. If your child is harassing someone, then show him the right path. ‘
Kerala Education Minister said- Bulling will be investigated in schools
Kerala General Education Minister V. Shivnakutty on Friday directed the General Education Director (DGE) to investigate the student’s suspected suicide in depth suicide. Shivnakutty said in a Facebook post that the General Education Director has been asked to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and recommend further action.
He wrote, ‘If any school is having harmful activities for the society, then they will be immediately identified, they will be stopped and strict steps will be taken against the school. Changes in law will also be considered if needed.

Mihir Ahmed, a student studying in 9th class at CBSE School in Thiruvaniyur in Ernakulam district of Kerala, died on 15 January by jumping from his flat in Tripunithura. His mother had complained to the Chief Minister and the police that his son took this step due to ragging and physical harassment in the school. The deceased’s friends and social media messages revealed that he was constantly falling prey to bullying and violence.
