Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Poland on Wednesday on a two-day visit. He was given a warm welcome here. After this, he reached the memorial of Jam Saheb Digvijay Singhji Ranjit Singhji Jadeja of Navanagar and paid tribute.

After this, PM Modi addressed the people of Indian origin. PM Modi said that for the past one week, you people have been dominating the media of India. After 45 years, a PM has come to Poland for the first time. Some good work is written in my destiny.

PM Modi said that before him no Indian PM had come here for such a long time. The policy of the previous governments was to maintain distance. Our policy is that we have to maintain closeness with all the countries.

PM also mentioned Jam Saheb of Jamnagar. PM said that a few days ago I went to meet the present Jam Saheb. There is still a picture of Poland in his room. Everyone in Poland knows our Jam Saheb as Good Maharaja. During World War 2, when Poland was surrounded by difficulties, Jam Saheb Digvijay Singh ji helped the Polish people.

PM Modi paid tribute at the Monte Cassino memorial and the Kolhapur family memorial.

After this, PM Modi will meet President Andrzej Sebastian Duda. Poland is going to become the President of the European Union Council next year. In such a situation, good relations with Poland are important for India even from a political point of view.

Before the address, PM Modi paid tribute to Jam Saheb at Navanagar in Warsaw. After this, he also paid tribute at the Monte Cassino Memorial and the memorial of the Kolhapur family. The Monte Cassino Memorial was built to commemorate the victory of the soldiers of the Second Polish Corps in the Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944 during the Second World War.

The II Corps conquered the hill and the monastery located on it against the Nazi German forces. More than 900 Polish soldiers were killed in this battle.
