According to reports, sources have said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised this issue with President Vladimir Putin after reaching Moscow on Monday. After this, an agreement was reached on the withdrawal of Indian troops.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, currently 30 to 40 Indians are serving in the Russian army. Earlier, many reports had said that these Indians want to return to their country but it is not possible for them to leave the Russian army and return to their country.
The Indian government made several diplomatic efforts for the return of these Indians recruited in the Russian army but no assurance was given by Russia. In such a situation, the safe return of these Indians recruited in the Russian army was a big priority during PM Modi’s visit to Russia.

Putin had described Modi as his best friend

Formal talks (between us) are going to take place tomorrow.”
President Vladimir Putin had sent an invitation to Prime Minister Modi, where the two leaders will meet on Tuesday in the 22nd annual summit between India and Russia. Many important issues are to be discussed in this bilateral talks. Earlier today, when the two leaders met, their close friendship was also clearly visible.
PM Modi has reached Russia on the invitation of Putin
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Russia for the first time in nearly five years. This is his second foreign visit of his third term.
